CBS, 'GoodFellas' Author Developing Vegas Period Drama

The network is joining with GoodFellas author Nicholas Pileggi to build up Rob Lamb, a possible drama series occur Vegas and turning round the former Clark County sheriff, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Lamb, who offered as sheriff from 1961 to 1979 assisted make up the Vegas Metro Police Department. He's noted for facing the Mafia and Hell's Angels, who in the 18-year legal career, never shot anybody. While frequently participating in fistfights with crime personas, Lamb was raised focusing on ranches. From CBS Television Galleries, Pileggi will pen the script for that project with With no Trace scribe Greg Master. Walk the road director James Mangold is aboard to direct and executive produce together with his partner, Trina Konrad, and film producer Arthur Sarkissian. Rob Lamb revisits a familiar territory for Pileggi, who reteamed with Martin Scorsese for that 1995 Mob drama Casino, starring Robert P Niro and Sharon Stone, depending on his book of the identical title. Mangold, meanwhile, directed CBS' pilot The Two-2. The project marks the most recent within the wave of sixties-set dramas, using the Playboy Club set at NBC and Pan Am at ABC.
